Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie was one of the guys that actively recruited Kyrie Irving to come to New York. Ever since All-Star weekend, Dinwiddie — one of the more humorous and transparent Twitter users in the NBA — has publicly and privately pleaded Irving to make the move to Brooklyn.

With that said, it should come as no surprise that Dinwiddie spoke about the excitement of teaming up with Irving.

Dinwiddie spoke to Irving's ability to “make (his) job easier” and get open shots for his teammates. Although he is more of a scoring point guard, Irving averaged a career-high 6.9 assists with the Boston Celtics last season. Now, he will run the point for a Nets team that is full of shooters.

Meanwhile, Dinwiddie once again figures to be the “Sixth Man” on a team that will rely on him to lead the second unit and score in bunches coming off the bench. Dinwiddie himself is an excellent passer and has plenty of size.

Given Irving's growing comfort in playing off the ball, there is a chance that Dinwiddie becomes even more of a combo guard. He shot below 34 percent from the 3-point arc last season, but he has range and can certainly fill it up.

Regardless, the Nets are going to be full of long and talented backcourt players. They have added Taurean Prince to a mix that already includes Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert, and now they have an elite scorer and clutch-time player in Irving.
