General manager…for life? That's not quite what Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov is thinking, but it's not far off due to the solid job Sean Marks is doing.

After landing All-Stars Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan in free agency this offseason, Marks could be looking at an extension by Prokhorov. Asked by a Nets community commenter about a “lifetime appointment” in line for Marks, Prokhorov played coy but noted the good work his GM has done.

Prokhorov, a Russian oligarch and a man worth billions, is the majority owner of the Nets. He also acknowledged the fine job by head coach Kenny Atkinson entering his fourth year with the team.
Marks spent time with the San Antonio Spurs from 2013-16 as an assistant coach before the Nets tabbed him for the GM role. Atkinson was last an assistant for the Atlanta Hawks before coming on board.
As Prokhorov suggested, it's expected that Marks and Atkinson will be with the organization for a long time.
