One of the more intriguing prospects in this year's draft class is former Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen. In the last few months, he has quickly risen up the ranks as possibly receiving heavy consideration to not be the first quarterback taken in late April, but the No. 1 player in the entire pool

Allen has a made a strong impression on those around him who continuously rave about his ability on the field. According to SiriusXM NFL Radio, Allen's former head coach at Wyoming, Craig Bohl, has voiced much praise toward Allen as possessing the best arm strength that he has seen in his entire coaching career.

The one area that may have continued to tout has been his throwing ability behind his strong arm and quick release. This, along with his size at 6-foot-5 and 233 pounds, could lend well to him possessing the right body frame for the position at the next level. He has shown the ability to make deep accurate passes down the field and the necessary throws that will be required to make in the NFL.

That said, Allen didn't necessarily put together a strong season as he posted only 1,812 passing yards along with 16 touchdown passes to six interceptions. What has also concerned some is his lack of true accuracy completing no greater than 58.3 percent of his passes in each of the last two seasons. He has struggled to maintain his footwork when being moved out of the pocket, which is something that should be a key skill that he must hone in on in the coming years.

This shouldn't diminish the level of talent that Allen has that has helped him be considered a high first-round selection alongside the likes of USC's Sam Darnold, UCLA's Josh Rosen, and Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield. He may be a developmental project heading into the NFL, but he has the physical tools that could help him round out into a potential franchise quarterback for the next decade.
