Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is now officially a 2020 NFL Draft prospect. With the former collegiate standout recently declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft, there is a very good chance that the Alabama legend comes off the board toward the beginning of the first round.

However, it is also possible that Tagovailoa slips a few spots due to some lingering injury trouble suffered in what would ultimately become his final season at Alabama. Nonetheless, Tagovailoa will begin throwing for professional franchises starting in April, just ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who declared last week for the 2020 NFL Draft, is expected to be healthy by April and able to participate in a throwing workout for prospective teams,” writes Mike Rodak of Alabama.com. “Longtime NFL agent Leigh Steinberg, whom Tagovailoa hired last week, told AL.com on Tuesday that Tagovailoa is expected to hold about a 40-minute session in which he makes 60-80 throws in front of scouts.

Unfortunately, Alabama's Pro Day is scheduled for March, which would obviously come just before his scheduled throwing timetable for April.

“The [intention] there is the ball never touches the ground and I think he’s gonna blow away teams in that process,” the aforementioned Steinberg told Alabama.com.

Even with a slew of injuries under his belt, Tagovailoa remains one of the top quarterbacks in this year's NFL Draft class.

The only signal-caller that will more than likely surpass Tagovailoa in the first round will be former LSU Tigers quarterback, national champion and Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow.
