During the NFL Scouting Combine last month there was much made about former USC quarterback Sam Darnold's decision to not through at the event. It drew up some concerns about whether there were some possible issues about his throwing motion ahead of the draft.

Throughout the entire process, Darnold has voiced no desire to change his throwing motion because he believes that he has a quick enough release to make up for any gray areas. According to Jordan Zirm of ESPN, a video has surfaced of the 20-year-old going through practice throwing sessions ahead of USC's Pro Day this upcoming week that displays him throwing the ball in the same manner.

It's quite clear that Darnold is set on keeping his throwing motion the same leading up to the draft where he is still expected to be one of the top selections. However, his Pro Day will go a long way in helping him either secure being taken as the first overall pick or allow for another player to creep in at that spot.

Darnold is regarded as being arguably the best talent in this year's crop of quarterbacks after a successful collegiate career. He demonstrated the ability to have a strong arm with the ability to make accurate throws in tight windows along with showing poise in the pocket. There have been some questions about his decision making given the rise in interceptions last season and ball security with fumbling a few times in 2017.

Nonetheless, these are attributes that NFL teams likely feel can be corrected at the next level with experience and tutelage by coaches. Darnold is a highly talented player that has plenty of potential to develop into a franchise quarterback wherever he is selected. If anything, this upcoming Pro Day should provide organizations more answers than questions about what he could possibly do in the NFL.
