Veteran wideout Demaryius Thomas is still hoping to sign with a new team this offseason.

The 32-year-old said he is intent on playing in 2020 and wants to surpass 10,000 receiving yards for his career (via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk):

Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas‘ name hasn’t popped up in conjunction with any teams this offseason, but that’s not because Thomas has decided to call it a career.

Thomas was a guest on 104.3 The Fan on Wednesday and said, via Nicki Jhabvala of TheAthletic.com, that he wants to play an 11th NFL season. Thomas added that he feels good physically and that he wants to reach 10,000 career receiving yards.

Thomas had initially signed with the New England Patriots last offseason, though he was promptly traded to the New York Jets in September. Thomas played 11 games with the Jets, hauling in 36 receptions for 433 yards.

The vast majority of Thomas' 9,763 yards came as a member of the Denver Broncos. Thomas was named to four Pro Bowls in five seasons between 2012 and 2016, including two consecutive seasons (2014 and 2015) in which he had over 100 receptions.

However, injuries and off-field issues quickly interfered with Thomas' career. He suffered a knee injury in December of 2018, which prompted the Houston Texans to release Thomas after acquiring him from the Denver Broncos. Then, in February if the following year, Thomas was arrested for vehicular assault.

While Thomas did have some moments for the Jets — averaging 12.0 yards per reception — he is not the same kind of threat he was last decade. Still, perhaps a team in need of receiving depth will take a flyer on a one-year deal with Thomas.
