It seemed as though veteran quarterback Jay Cutler had finally called time on his career last season. He had a broadcasting job all lined up and everything. However, he promptly left that job and came out of retirement in order to play one more year with the Miami Dolphins.

In a clip for his wife Kristin Cavallari’s upcoming reality show, Cutler hasn’t completely closed the door on another comeback. Although, he’s strongly leaning toward his retirement becoming permanent this time around.

“I mean, I can’t say 100. Probably,” Cutler said.

Cutler added that he likely won’t be sure until September if he does intend to remain retired for good. That’s despite Cavallari making her feelings about the subject matter clear.

“You have to realize how many sacrifices I have made over the eight football seasons we’ve been together,” she said. “This is my turn.”

One thing Mrs. Cutler will have in her favor regarding Jay's permanent retirement is the fact that the veteran QB may not have too many suitors after his mediocre performance in Miami last season. Cutler started 14 games for the Dolphins, completing 62 percent of his passes for 2,666 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.

As last season’s situation showed, though, nothing can be completely ruled out. There could still be a team like the Dolphins desperate enough to call up a 35-year-old Cutler to see if he’s interested in another return. However, playing the comeback card again probably won’t be a wise move for Cutler especially since his wife is clearly not a fan of that decision.
