Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson, star quarterbacks for the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans, respectively, are slated to play against each other on Sunday afternoon in the AFC Divisional Playoff Game. They are also each expected to earn quite a hefty contract extension in the near future.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the two former first-round picks in the 2017 NFL Draft are able to negotiate contract extensions in the coming 2020 offseason, and the star gunslingers could both earn $200 million deals when it's all said and done. Schefter is reporting that should Mahomes lead the No. 4 Texans past his pal Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday, the ex-Clemson quarterback's price could go up even further.

But if Watson can lead the Texans to a road upset in Kansas City against Mahomes and the Chiefs, and drive Houston even further into the postseason, his price might go up that much more.

Either way, Mahomes and Watson, both 24 years old, are in line for contract extensions this offseason that could reset the quarterback position and how NFL deals are done.

Patrick Mahomes, last season's MVP, and Watson, a two-time Pro-Bowler, were selected two picks apart in 2017 and could leverage their recent successes to strong arm the Chiefs and Texans to major paydays.

The Texans previously defeated the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium during the 2019 regular season by a touchdown margin. Watson threw 30 completions for 280 yards and a touchdown and two interceptions in that win while Patrick Mahomes connected on three touchdowns and a pick, throwing for 273 yards.
