The craze for gaming memorabilia knows no bounds, especially if they’re pants worn by a legendary player. TMZ Sports reported on Monday that Tom Brady's pants from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' playoff loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card game on January 16, 2023, fetched $89,100 at Grey Flannel Auctions, exceeding the minimum price of $10,000 by a significant margin.

The pants, marked with the date on the waistband and the Bucs No. 12 tag, fetched a significant sum. However, this amount is considerably lower than the jersey worn in the same game, which was sold previously for a whopping $1.39 million.

Brady's suggestion of a possible return to the season as an injury replacement earlier this year may influence the worth of items such as the “last game ever” pants and jersey, including everything he wore during that match, which is currently considered his most recent final game.

In 2022, the ball from Brady's final touchdown pass sold for $518,000. However, the auction house voided the sale after Brady's retirement announcement. This time, anyone investing in Brady's “very last” items should be aware that he might retire for a second time, potentially affecting their future value.

Brady's performance in the game didn’t fit the billing as Tampa Bay lost 31-14. He went 35-of-66 for 351 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception that was overshadowed by Dak Prescott's four touchdown passes on the other side.

The disappointing outcome marked a bittersweet end for the all-time legend, although he did lead Tampa Bay to the playoffs in his age-45 season.

Tom Brady's illustrious career includes seven Super Bowl titles, five Super Bowl MVPs, three league MVPs, and 15 Pro Bowl selections. Widely regarded as the greatest player in NFL history, it's no wonder that memorabilia from his final game would command such high value.

Patriot's Hall of Fame enshrinement for the GOAT

Since Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL after 23 seasons and seven Super Bowl championships, the New England Patriots have been diligently planning a ceremony to honor the quarterback's legendary career. This culmination will take place on Wednesday, June 12, as Brady becomes the 35th player to be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by RTX.

Players usually have to wait four years before their legacy is officially enshrined, but in September, Patriots chairman and CEO Robert Kraft announced that Brady's waiting period would be waived, and his iconic No. 12 would be retired.

Over 100 of Brady's former teammates will reunite in Foxborough for the occasion, including notable names such as Julian Edelman, Randy Moss, Rob Gronkowski, Willie McGinest, Devin McCourty, Vince Wilfork, Ty Law, James White, Wes Welker, Kevin Faulk, Matthew Slater, Dan Koppen, Logan Mankins, Matt Cassel, Brian Hoyer, Drew Bledsoe, Rob Ninkovich, and Patrick Chung.

The ceremony will follow a format similar to previous Patriots Hall of Fame inductions, albeit in a larger venue. The team plans to feature a panel of former teammates who will share stories about Brady, recount his career, and reminisce about their time together. Additionally, it's expected that Belichick will also address the audience and share anecdotes of his own about Brady.

With Tom Brady's induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame approaching, the buzz around his memorabilia, including the recent sale of his playoff pants, continues to grow. As fans and collectors eagerly await the ceremony and potential future auctions, Brady's legacy as one of the NFL's greatest players remains firmly intact.
