Troy Aikman received some heat from his bosses at Fox about some comments made toward Doug Gottlieb. After Andrew Luck hung up the cleats Gottlieb had some choice words about Luck's choice questioning if Luck decided to retire because rehabbing was too hard. Those comments didn't sit well with Aikman who went after Gottlieb and FS1.

Aikman didn't like that just because Gottlieb didn't Luck retiring that he decided to go after personally, and even went as far to say those comments must be what keeps him employed at FS1.

Aikman was recently on the SI Media Podcast with Jimmy Traina and said after he tweeted his thoughts, he was called in by the bosses to chat about the comments.

“I have great bosses, and I will tell you they were great in how they handled it,” Troy Aikman said via Pro Football Talk. “They were very direct with me and honest and I’ve always respected those kinds of people. They respected the fact that I was honest. They did not like that I would say something about the company. I understand that and I appreciate the way that they discussed it with me.”

Aikman and Gottlieb are employed by the same company, so it makes sense his bosses wouldn't want him to go after FS1.

This isn't the first time that Aikman has gone after FS1 though. When they decided to hire Skip Bayless away from ESPN, Aikman had some choice words for the network's decision. Bayless and Aikman's dislike for each other goes way back, so it's not shocking he wasn't happy with that decision.
