Things between Kennedy Chandler, a five-star prospect out of the 2021 college basketball recruiting class, and the North Carolina Tar Heels appear to be heating up.

According to a report from Stockrisers and Rivals reporter Jake Weingarten, UNC has reached out to the young man, showing heavy interest and wanting to set up a visit with him. We know this because Weingarten tweeted it.

A big boy program being interested in Kennedy Chandler isn't exactly new.

Recently, the Florida Gators, Auburn Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats, and Tennessee Volunteers all checked in on the young man. Mike White and Bruce Pearl went themselves to represent their programs. It’s worth nothing John Calipari has recently checked in on the young man himself, but sent assistants this time around.

Recruiting service outlets either Kennedy Chandler as a four or five-star recruit. Furthermore, those outlets tend to agree he’s one of the 25 (or so) best players in the entire 2021 recruiting class. Some have him even higher, nearing the top 10 mark.

Regardless of those star ratings, it appears as though the North Carolina Tar Heels are ready to make a full push for the young man.
