The Denver Nuggets have struggled as of late and they have put themselves out of the playoff bubble after the surging L.A. Clippers have won six straight to move into the eighth spot. Last night's loss to the Phoenix Suns only smeared their 23-23 record even more, as the Mile High City squad has now lost six of its last eight games — and no one knows it better than sixth man Will Barton.

“Shots aren’t always gonna go in, but you can always play hard. We’re not doing that enough,” Barton said after struggling with a 3-of-10 shooting night, according to Gina Mizell of The Denver Post. “We pick and choose when we want to play hard, and we can’t do that. We’re not good enough to do that.”

“If you ain’t doing what the hell you’re supposed to do, how are you gonna tell somebody else to do it? If you’re out there giving your all, then you can get on somebody and they can respect it.”

After a solid start to the season, Barton himself has struggled with his shot, coming from a scorching month of November, where he shot a whisker under 50 percent to shooting barely over 40 percent in December and 20 days into the new year.

Barton has been a spark plug for the team in the overall picture but he has only managed to hit 40 percent or more of his shots in four of the last 10 games since the start of the year, as his usual scoring punch has dwindled to a mere 13 points per game.
