The Washington Wizards last week made the decision to bring back forward Otto Porter by matching the four-year, $106 million offer sheet that he received from the Brooklyn Nets.

The new deal ensures that Porter will be a major part of the team's long-term plans as one of the key pieces on the roster. The 24-year-old opened up about returning back to the Wizards.

Porter is coming off his individual season where he averaged 13.4 points on 51.6 percent shooting from the field and 43.4 percent from beyond the arc with 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Although it took a few years, he has finally taken significant strides toward fulfilling the tremendous level of expectations set before him when he was selected with the third overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

This is a massive commitment from the Wizards that speaks to the organization's strong belief that he can continue to develop into a high-impact player over the next several seasons. It is also a vote of confidence that he's an invaluable contributor alongside All-Star point guard John Wall and guard Bradley Beal.

The Wizards are set to bring back nearly the same group of players that provide them an opportunity to build off last season's success where they won 49 games in the regular season and made it to the second round of the playoffs.
