Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers says he has always been confident in the abilities of wide receiver Geronimo Allison. The young wideout is a third-year player that made his way into the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Allison had six receptions for 64 yards in his team's 29-29 tie to the Minnesota Vikings last week.

Most football fans hadn't heard of him until 39-yard touchdown catch in the comeback victory over the Chicago Bears last week. However, Rodgers had tremendous respect for Allison years ago, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

“G-Mo, I’ve always had a lot of confidence in him,” Rodgers said. “He’s a great teammate, he has a great professional work ethic, he’s prepared, he knows the offense really well, and that’s the starting point of any type of trust is the mental part. So I expect him to be in the right spot and to run the routes the right way and if he’s open, he’ll get the ball”

Allison's first catch in the NFL was a four-yard touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons. It came a mere six days after he was called up from the practice squad. While he is the No. 3 receiver on the Packers' depth chart, but their pass-heavy offense gets him plenty of targets. He tends to fly under the radar with Randall Cobb and Davante Adams overshadowing him, but he is a vital part of their offense.

So far this season, Allison has recorded 11 receptions for 133 yards and one touchdown. He's already halfway to the 253 receiving yards he recorded in 15 games for the Packers last year. Aaron Rodgers will need him continues at this pace. If he does, Geronimo Allison could make himself a big name in NFL this year.
