Longtime “Jeopardy” host Alex Trebek passed away on Sunday morning at the age of 80, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is a well-known fan of “Jeopardy.”

Rodgers clearly revered Alex Trebek. Soon after the news broke, he shared his reaction to the legendary host's passing and fondly remembered his experiences with the host.

“6p weeknights will never be the same. So many great memories and thankful to have met him,” Rodgers tweeted.

Rodgers is more than just a fan of the classic game show, he's a past contestant and winner. In May 2015, the future Hall of Famer flexed his trivia chops during an appearance on an episode of “Celebrity Jeopardy” hosted by Alex Trebek.

Rodgers defeated Kevin O'Leary from “Shark Tank” and astronaut Mark Kelly, who just became the Senator-elect from Arizona. He won $50,000 for charity after a final score of $8,399 on the show. The money went to the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer.

Check out Rodgers run through the Leader of the Pack category, correctly answering questions from Alex Trebek about Iditarod racing, Alexander the Great, Mt. Everest, and Custer's Last Stand.

Rodgers missed the Final Jeopardy question presented by Alex Trebek — wrongly identifying two old businessmen from the Packers' own state of Wisconsin — but his opponents were unable to take advantage, handing the victory for Rodgers. (Funnily enough, Rodgers also missed an earlier question about his alma mater, the University of California, Berkeley.)

Alex Trebek even pulled out the Discount Double Check during the show in response to Rodgers' performance.

After the fact, Rodgers called making an appearance on “Jeopardy” as a bucket-list moment.
