Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer thinks Aaron Rodgers should just retire after the Green Bay Packers selected Jordan Love with their first-round pick.

Speaking after the Vikings finished up their first-round draft, Zimmer was asked about the Packers drafting a quarterback. Zimmer has joked before about Rodgers retiring so he doesn't have to gameplan against the Packers gunslinger anymore. He joked that is really the only option now. Zimmer added in all seriousness they are just worried about what the Vikings are doing.

Zimmer is probably going to have to gameplan against Rodgers for at least another couple of years, but at some point, the Packers star might have a decision to make if he wants to retire, or move on to a different team. Brett Favre was in a similar situation with Rodgers ready to take over. He decided to play for the New York Jets, then later the Vikings.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekuns also made clear that right now, Rodgers is still the Packers starting quarterback.

“We’ve got the best quarterback in the National Football League, and we plan to have him for a while competing for championships,” Gutekunst said via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. “I can understand the fan base and people thinking, ‘Why would you do this at this time?’ But I just think the value of our board and the way it sat, it was the best for the Green Bay Packers, and we’re really excited to get Jordan here and get him in the door and learning our system.

This will now be a constant question for the Packers, but Zimmer thinks he has it figured out on how to solve the issue at hand.
