Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari hasn't played yet this season because of a torn ACL. That's all about to change on Sunday against the Detroit Lions as the 2021 regular season comes to a close with Week 18 action.

Bakhtiari has officially announced that he'll be suiting up for this tuneup game ahead of the playoffs:

It had been trending this way all week, and now here's the confirmation from the man himself. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will certainly be thrilled to have one of his main protectors back.

While the Packers' Week 18 game against the Lions means nothing after already clinching the top spot in the NFC, it's important for Bakhtiari to get back out there and get some reps in before the playoffs begin. The All-Pro offensive tackle hasn't played since Week 16 of last season, which is when he suffered the torn ACL.

Rodgers and the Packers made it to the NFC Championship Game without Bakhtiari last season, only to fall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lambeau Field. Green Bay now has home-field advantage again throughout the playoffs, and the hope is this time things will go in their favor, except with Bakhtiari in the lineup.

The Packers are 13-3 on the season, with Rodgers putting in another MVP-caliber campaign. There's a very good chance he goes back-to-back, and he'll now try to win his second Super Bowl as Bakhtiari returns to help him out.
