We have seen a Super Bowl in New York/New Jersey, but the NFL Draft hosted by the Green Bay Packers? The franchise is pushing for just that.

Top Packers executive Mark Murphy is leading an effort to bring the 2024 NFL Draft to Wisconsin, per Jay Sorgi in 620 WTMJ.com:

Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy told shareholders in a virtual meeting that Green Bay is a “finalist” to host the 2024 draft, according to WTMJ.

Green Bay had been considered a strong candidate to host the 2022 draft, but when Las Vegas lost the 2020 draft because of the pandemic, the 2022 draft was awarded to Las Vegas instead. The 2021 draft is in Cleveland and the 2023 draft is in Kansas City.

With Green Bay named a finalist for the destination draft, the NFL may continue it's traveling roadshow; 2020 saw the draft held virtually, although it was intended for Las Vegas, as the Raiders relocated to Sin City in the offseason (Vegas' hosting duties were postponed to 2022). Next year will be Cleveland, sure to be a “rocking” event, with 2023 slated for reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs' home turf in Kansas City.

In past years, the draft went to Nashville, Dallas, and Philadelphia after a two-year sojourn to Chicago, Illinois. Before the Windy City, the NFL draft was a staple in New York City, usually at Radio City Music Hall or Madison Square Garden.

The Packers are hoping they can give the NFL landscape, and eventually, their own future draft picks, a nice, Midwestern welcoming of hospitality should the finalist Green Bay earn the bid.
