The Green Bay Packers have some decisions to make when it comes to the running back position, including what they want to do with Jamaal Williams. Williams, who is an impending free agent, spoke about his undetermined future with the Packers.

“I'm thinking about free agency, but I'd really love to just be a Packer all my life if I could,” Williams said, via Kevin Patra of NFL.com. “They gave me my first shot. I love Green Bay. It's just a great place to be. But you know, things happen. If things don't happen, then I'm just ready to take my shot into the free agency and show my skills to any team that's willing to take that chance on me. I'm just ready to go, man. I'm just ready to play, have fun, be myself, just bring my spark to any team willing to give me that shot.”

Williams began his career as a fourth-round selection of the Packers in the 2017 NFL Draft out of BYU. At the same time, Green Bay also took Aaron Jones in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, who is also a free agent this offseason.

In all likeliness, Jones could become too expensive for the Packers to keep after he's produced back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. As for Williams, he's been a valuable change-of-pace option behind Jones, recording 600 or more scrimmage yards in each of his first four seasons.

Barring an unforeseen change in his market, Williams could return to the Packers at an affordable price. It appears that he is more than interested in returning to Green Bay for the right price. Regardless of where he lands, Williams is ready to prove that he can be a useful running back in the NFL.
