Mike Daniels remains a free agent this offseason and earlier this month, he shared his interest to return to the team that drafted him. While he waits for an opportunity in free agency, Daniels reiterated his desire to return to the Green Bay Packers, per Wilde and Tausch.

Within the appearance on Wilde and Tausch, Daniels spoke about a possible reunion with the Packers:

“I am very excited at the possibility of the opportunity to come back, if that was a thing,” Daniels said.

Back in the 2012 NFL Draft, Daniel was taken by Green Bay with the No. 132 pick in the fourth round. Upon being selected, Daniels immediately became a rotational interior defender for the Packers. In his first two seasons, Daniels accumulated 8.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss.

Then, in his third season in Green Bay, the Iowa product became a starter on the defense. From 2014-2018, Daniels was a starter for the Packers, amassing 20.5 sacks and 56 quarterback hits.

However, after sustaining an injury in 2018, Daniels' time with the Packers came to an end. After seven seasons in Green Bay, Daniels would sign with the Detroit Lions in 2019.

Due to his injury, Daniels wasn't able to play as much as he would've liked in his lone season with the Lions. As a matter of fact, he finished with career-lows in sacks and tackles for losses.

Seeing that he's 31 years old and his injury status is unknown, Daniels remains available in free agency. With that in mind, the veteran interior defender would be open to re-joining the team he began his career with.
