On Thursday, the New England Patriots will get their Super Bowl title defense underway as they're set to go head-to-head against the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL season opener.

Bill Belichick, who won his fifth title as head coach of the Patriots last season, is no stranger to season openers and the nervousness going into the first game of an NFL campaign.

“Opening day is always a time where you have a lot of questions, butterflies,” Belichick said while discussing Thursday's regular-season opener against the Chiefs. “I think that’s part of opening day — a lot of unknowns on our team, a lot of unknowns on their team, a lot of unknowns when the two collide. So, we’ll see how it goes.”

Belichick and Tom Brady will hope to keep the ride going in 2017 as they dynamic duo look to make history once again with a sixth Super Bowl title as head coach and quarterback. Brady, who is heading into his 18th season with the Patriots, also admitted to getting a bit nervy when it comes to Week 1.

Although the Patriots are expected to come out on Sept. 7 against the Chiefs, Kansas City will likely put up a fight against the defending Super Bowl champions. Andy Reid's squad went 12-4 last season and will look to have a similar result this year with Alex Smith leading the way.
