New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry is hurt — again. Henry, who’s got quite a history of injuries has suffered what appears to be an upper-body injury that will keep him out of action for some time, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Patriots’ TE Hunter Henry now is expected to miss “a couple of weeks” with the shoulder injury he suffered last weekend that is “not serious”, per source.

Henry is in his first year with the Pats after spending his first four seasons in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers/Los Angeles Chargers and is expected to be among the impact players on New England’s offense. The tight end spot was among the weakest on the Patriots’ roster in 2020 when the team only got a total of one touchdown reception from its tight ends.

Henry has always shown flashes of being a crucial piece on offense when he’s healthy, but this latest injury is another reminder of why he is a risky investment. In 2018, he tore his ACL on his right knee during the OTAs and missed the entire season.

The Patriots signed Henry to a three-year deal worth $37.5 million back in March. In the same month, they also inked tight end Jonnu Smith to a four-year $50 million contract.

So far in his career, Henry has 2,322 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns on 196 receptions and 284 targets.
