Antonio Brown signed with the New England Patriots over the weekend after being released by the Oakland Raiders. He has had plenty of drama surrounding him from a football standpoint this offseason, but there are more troubles facing him now.

New reports broke that his former trainer had filed allegations of sexual assault against Brown. The star wide receiver has denied all of the allegations and reportedly plans to counter-sue for false allegations.

New England has officially released a statement on the allegations that Brown is facing, as shared by Allan Bell of CBS SportsLine.

Needless to say, this is a situation to keep a close eye on moving forward. The allegations against Brown are very serious and the details that have been provided are brutal. New England seems to be keeping their options open and for now, the plan is likely to still have Brown play in Week 2.

Britney Taylor, who was a former trainer for Brown, opened up about the decision to pursue allegations against Brown.

“As a rape victim of Antonio Brown, deciding to speak out has been an incredibly difficult decision,” Taylor said in a statement. “I have found strength in my faith, my family, and from the accounts of other survivors of sexual assault.”

At this point in time, no other details are known about the situation. There are still plenty of questions surrounding this situation and the Patriots are going to have a difficult time dealing with everything. For now, however, the Patriots are likely to let the situation run its course and focus on their relationship with Brown from a football perspective.

More information is sure to become available in the coming weeks and we will make sure to have all the updates for you.
