The gashed hand of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been one of the notable headlines over the last several weeks. Amidst all the speculation of exactly how it went all down, the one thing people know for sure is that running back Rex Burkhead was somehow involved. However, the degree to which is still yet to be known.

Despite reporters' attempts to get Burkhead to elaborate on the incident, he managed to remain hush-hush about the whole ordeal, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk:

“I don’t want to get involved with it,” Burkhead said.

The questions, though, continue.

“A lot,” he said. “But I’m still not speaking on it.”

The NFL world was shocked to hear about the hand injury Brady suffered during practice in the week leading up to their AFC Championship showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars. It had been later revealed that the cut required 12 stitches to repair.

All that was known at the time was that Brady had somehow come into contact with Burkhead during practice. However, it seems as if the Patriots are trying to keep it that way for now.

Needless to say, both players have more on their mind than worrying about minor cuts and bruises. Furthermore, the injury did not hinder Brady in any way against the Jaguars after throwing for 290 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Burkhead managed to come back from his own injury to make his postseason debut. He will likely continue to serve as a complementary piece in the Patriots' running back committee at the Super Bowl.
