Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady penned a heartfelt message of appreciation for running back LeGarrette Blount who recently announced his retirement from the league via Instagram. Both of them previously became teammates on the New England Patriots from 2014 to 2016.

“So proud of you and everything you accomplished champ it was my pleasure always to be there for you and loved sharing the huddle with you!!” Brady wrote via Yahoo Sports.

Blount came a long way as he first went undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft but was eventually picked up by the Tennessee Titans as a free agent. Not long after, he then had a three-year run with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2010 to 2012.

He eventually landed in Foxborough for the first time via trade back in 2013 but saw himself signing a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers a season later. He didn't get to play the entirety of his contract after he was abruptly released by the team.

The Florida native then embarked on the most fruitful years of his career when he came back to the Patriots for a second stint. Having a quarterback like Brady under center, Blount managed to have many opportunities where he scored 18 total touchdowns as a Patriot.

He eventually emerged as a valuable contributor for New England's postseason runs as they snagged both Super Bowl XLIX and LI titles in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Blount then moved on and took his talents to Philadelphia. There he found more success with an Eagles that won him a second consecutive individual title over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII during the 2017 season.

The veteran rusher had a final stop with the Detroit Lions before he bounced out of the league in 2018. Through nine seasons in the league, he amassed a total of 6,306 rushing yards and 56 touchdowns.

Tom Brady's praises and well-wishes for his former teammate only spoke on the impact that LeGarrette Blount seemed to have made for the many teams that he had played for throughout his career on the gridiron.
