The New England Patriots surprised a lot of people when they traded for Josh Gordon earlier this season, but it didn't take him long to make a good impression on Rob Gronkowski who knew pretty quickly that he would be a good fit for their team. Gordon has a lot of baggage with him, but Gronkowski watched him on the practice field and knew he- was a good addition.

“I would say within the first week when he got out there playing in games,” the Patriots tight end said Thursday via NESN. “Just the way he’s been working, week in, week out. You can see it in the practice field and then you see it in the game. Just a great guy to have out there and a phenomenal athlete.”

Gordon made his Patriots debut in week four and since that point has led the team with 39 receptions for 701 receiving yards. He has also caught three touchdown passes. He doesn't get a ton of attention as he did with the Cleveland Browns but he seems to enjoy being a good team player, and not someone with all the pressure.

“He’s brought a lot: the way he just plays, the way he catches the ball, gets that burst, gets us first downs when we need it,” Gronkowski said. “Just another player on our team that’s reliable when we need him, so it’s great to have him.”

The best news for Gordon and the Patriots is he staying out of trouble, something he had trouble doing during his time with the Browns.
