The Atlanta Hawks are scheduled to make their preseason debut on Thursday night when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies. Although their fans can't wait to watch their new and improved lineup in action, they will need to wait a little longer before they see the team at full strength.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer confirmed on Tuesday that starting power forward Paul Millsap and newly-acquired back-up point-guard Jarrett Jack will miss their team's first two preseason games as they both are recovering from knee injuries.

The 6-foot-8 Millsap was set to miss the first three weeks of training camp after undergoing a non-surgical procedure. He was still seen doing shooting drills after Tuesday's practice which is good news for the Atlanta faithful. His excellent perimeter game and post-moves is expected to compliment the strong inside game of their prize recruit from this summer, Dwight Howard.

Jack, on the other hand, suffered an ACL tear back in January while still playing for the Brooklyn Nets. The Hawks are aware that dealing with these kinds of injuries is always tricky and that's why they will proceed with caution and slowly ease him back in the lineup.
