Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard believes the New Orleans Pelicans would benefit a lot from the recent blockbuster trade which sent Lonzo Ball to the Big Easy.

The Pelicans sent Anthony Davis to the Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks. Damian Lillard believes that the Pelicans are in good hands with Ball running the show for them in the future. The superstar point guard believes Ball will have an impact on both ends of the floor.

Damian Lillard said that Ball will be “really good” in New Orleans. He pointed out that the former UCLA standout, who was the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, is a good defender and a very good passer.

The Lakers were very high on Ball when they selected him in the draft two years ago, but the 21-year-old guard was slowed down by injuries in his first two seasons in the league. He was limited to 47 games last season, when he averaged 9.9 points on top of 5.4 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game. Lonzo Ball shows considerable promise; his limitations haven't come from his basketball acumen or the way he performed on the court. Injuries have been the main roadblock.

But despite underperforming in the last two seasons, Ball has an advocate: Damian Lillard is still convinced that Ball will eventually find his mark. He will be playing alongside Zion Williamson, who was selected first overall in Thursday's draft. Lillard said that he “like what New Orleans has got going” with the recent moves the Pelicans made.
