Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday wasn't interested in pushing for a trade ahead of Thursday's deadline. The former 17th overall pick would be a fine addition for a lot of teams, but he says he likes his situation in New Orleans.

Currently three spots behind the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, The Pelicans still have an outside shot at making a postseason appearance. Injuries have been an issue throughout this campaign, and rookie sensation Zion Williamson has only recently joined the fray. Still, Holiday believes New Orleans “has a good thing going:”

“I’d love to win, I feel like that’s everybody, right? But at the same time, I feel like we have a good thing going here and we can possibly push to where we want to get to,” Holiday said, via The Athletic. “I’ve been on two teams, but I’ve been in a bunch of different situations. I’ve been on teams that made it to the second round and others that didn’t really go anywhere. I feel pretty good about where we’re at right now.

“I really just want to be a part of something, honestly,” the Pelicans talent added. “I want be a part of something I can look back on and be proud of when it’s all said and done.”

Holiday has become an important piece of New Orleans' rotation, as he can both score and defend. In his 43 appearances this season, the California native has racked up averages of 19.2 points on 43.8 percent shooting from the field (34.3 percent from beyond the arc), 6.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals and just under one block (0.9) in 34.8 minutes per outing.

Holiday and the Pelicans will be back in action on Saturday, when they'll face off against the Indiana Pacers.
