DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis were just getting into a groove, and the New Orleans Pelicans were playing some really good basketball when Cousins ruptured his Achilles and he was lost for the season.

So along with his rehab this summer, Cousins is going to have to decide what team he wants to play for, as he is an unrestricted free agent.

ESPN recently took a survey of 48 NBA pros asking them all sorts of questions about the current state of the NBA, and different questions about this summers free agent class. One of the questions asked was “True or false: DeMarcus Cousins will be in New Orleans on opening night 2018.”

About 80 percent of the players that answered said he will be back with the Pelicans while 20 percent of the players think he will be on another team. One Western Conference guard hopes he will be back with the Pelicans.

“I hope he'll be back!”

It's been pretty made pretty clear that DeMarcus Cousins loves being a member of the New Orleans Pelicans and he has really enjoyed his time side by side with fellow All-Star big man Anthony Davis.

During last night's All-Star game Anthony Davis came out in the first half with Boogie's jersey to represent his injured teammate who couldn't play in the game.

Even if Cousins wants to come back, the Pelicans could decide they want to go in a different direction, and not re-sign Cousins.

If that ended up being the case though, that would be very surprising. The Pelicans got a glimpse of what could happen when the two play side by side on the court this season, and it should leave them a lot hungrier for more.
