Anthony Davis is quite aware that the New Orleans Pelicans' future is looking bright with 20-year-old Zion Williamson beginning to emerge as a top-tier NBA force. Zion is gradually understanding the nuances of winning basketball.

The second-year forward has been incredible, to say the least, in his sophomore stint for the Pelicans as he continues to spearhead his young team win after win. On Monday, Williamson once again led NOLA to a huge win against the league-leading Utah Jazz squad with an impressive 26-10-5 evening which ended up making franchise history.

According to ESPN Stats & Info (h/t to Andrew Lopez of ESPN), Zion has now become the youngest player in Pelicans franchise history to record such a stat line. At 20 years and 238 days, Williamson was able to post a 26-10-5 game younger than Anthony Davis and even Chris Paul.

Williamson was already averaging 25.5 points per game, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per outing coming into their game against Utah. The young Pelicans superstar didn't back down from the challenge of having to face the two-time DPOY in Rudy Gobert and even outmuscled the Jazz big man on numerous occasions on Monday. Just utter dominance from Zion.

After missing a huge chunk of his rookie season with the Pelicans, Williamson is looking to prove that the sophomore slump isn't applicable to a guy like him. In 33 games so far this season, he's already been able to outdo his rookie numbers in almost all aspects of his game.

Being surrounded by young talents like Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball has complemented the play of the 20-year-old and had finally fit the bill with the Pelicans and what they are trying to do. It has matched the hype that has surrounded him since his days in Duke. As long as he stays healthy, the sky is the limit for young Zanos.
