Jrue Holiday could be one of the names floating around during the trade deadline, as ESPN's Zach Lowe suggested on a recent TV special next to colleague Adrian Wojnarowski (h/t Sagar Trika aka @BlazersBySagar).
The New Orleans Pelicans have only won six games this season and are in the midst of a 12-game losing skid during the past three weeks, making Holiday a prime candidate to be moved before the Feb. 6 deadline.
New Orleans has been noncommittal when it comes to moving any of the veterans on the club, including marksman JJ Redick, as they believe the two experienced players can contribute to a young roster that is still finding its footing in the league.
Yet Lowe spitballed a potential move that would make sense, trading Holiday for a struggling Gary Harris, whose impact has greatly diminished after Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic became the star duo of attraction.
The Denver Nuggets already have a number of capable scorers in their lineup with Murray, Harris, Will Barton, Paul Millsap, and Jokic, but adding an established two-way guard like Holiday could help them make the leap to a contender after leaving plenty of questions with a puzzling recent stretch.
Trading Harris along with some salary filler and draft compensation could be the right recipe that entices the Pelicans to part ways with Holiday, the outstanding piece remaining from the Anthony Davis days after a roster overhaul this summer.
The Nuggets, however, won't be willing to trade Michael Porter Jr., despite having limited opportunities to play this season for a top-heavy Denver roster.
