With the 2017-18 NBA regular season coming to a close, Anthony Davis has received consideration for the league's Most Valuable Player award. Despite losing DeMarcus Cousins against the Houston Rockets on Jan. 26 with an Achilles injury, the New Orleans Pelicans are currently 43-33, two games ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers for the final spot in the Western Conference.

As Davis focuses on making the playoffs for the first time in two seasons, the 25-year-old recently asked fans if he should shave his trademark unibrow on Twitter:

With 51 percent of fans saying yes, Davis decided to shave his unibrow:

With April Fool's Day approaching, many believe the video of Davis shaving his unibrow is fake. As Davis is part of the Red Bull family, basketball fans will eventually find out when the Pelicans take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in a crucial game for playoff positioning. Although New Orleans is currently the eighth spot in the Western Conference, only one game separates them from the San Antonio Spurs, who are currently the fourth spot.

Although Davis has been one of the league's best players, he has finally received the national media attention that he deserves this season. In 69 games, the former first overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft is averaging 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in 36.4 minutes.

With the playoffs quickly approaching, a first round playoff matchup between Davis and James Harden could be intriguing.
