In a potential matchup that could take place in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, the Detroit Pistons are once again fighting tooth-and-nail with the Toronto Raptors.

Their Sunday afternoon game was one in which the Pistons' Andre Drummond wanted to make a statement, win or lose, and he did just that by posterizing Toronto's Eric Moreland.

The Pistons have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since the All-Star break. After spending the first half of the season outside of the playoff picture, Detroit has been on a tear as of late. They have won seven of their last ten games and are now sixth in the East with a 35-33 record.

And Drummond has been a major part of the team's success.

The seven-year veteran has been impressive for the Pistons this season, averaging 17.4 points and a league-leading 15.3 rebounds per game. He's also doing his part on the defensive end, putting up 1.2 steals and 1.7 blocks per game. He's been the all-around leader on the floor for Detroit. Together with All-Star Blake Griffin, they form one of the most intimidating frontcourt tandems in the league.

While they are not serious contenders, the Pistons look to be a tough out for whoever they face in the first round of the playoffs.
