It looks like we won't be getting Detroit Pistons power forward Blake Griffin's second revenge game against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.

The Pistons are listing Griffin as doubtful to face the Clippers on Thursday because of left knee soreness. Last season, Griffin put up 44 points in his return to Staples Center:

Griffin has been a shell of himself this season for the Pistons. He’s averaging just 15.5 points and 4.7 rebounds in 18 games while shooting a woeful 35.2 percent from the field and 24.3 percent from beyond the arc. Griffin has no lift or speed at the moment.

Griffin was a superstar last season. He appeared in 75 games for the Pistons and put up 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. Detroit made the playoffs for the first time since 2016. They got swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in part because Griffin only played in Games 3 and 4 due to his knee injury. Blake underwent knee surgery after the playoffs ended.

The Pistons might have to blow up the roster and trade Griffin and Andre Drummond if the losing continues in The Motor City. Detroit is just 12-22 on the season, 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Griffin has arguably one of the worst contracts in the league considering he hasn't been playing well this season. The former high-flyer is making $34,234,964 this season and owed $36,595,996 in 2020-21.
