Detroit Pistons All-Star power forward Blake Griffin says the energy big man Thon Maker brings to the team is amazing and contagious.

The Pistons acquired Maker from the Milwaukee Bucks. The 7-footer plays with a motor that Griffin and the rest of the players on the Pistons appreciate.

“He’s been great,” Griffin said of Maker, via Pistons.com. “Just his energy, man. He’s just always everywhere. And if he’s not blocking shots, he’s swinging for the fences. It’s making people think and it’s making people be aware of where he is.”

In 18 games with the Pistons, Maker is averaging 5.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 36.6 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from beyond the arc and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.

While those numbers don't jump off the page, Maker's length and passion for the game can't be measured in numbers. Detroit, who is trying to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016, need Maker's defensive intangibles if they want to clinch a playoff berth and go on a run in the playoffs.

Griffin and Andre Drummond are the best players on the Pistons, but it looks like the team recognizes how important Maker is to the club's success.
