Recently, rumors mushroomed that hip-hop star J. Cole is seriously training for the NBA. The Detroit Pistons seem well aware of these reports that they even offered to give him a chance to make the roster.

On Twitter, the Pistons called the attention of J. Cole and invited him to try out. They also posted a jersey with music artist's name etched on the back.

Hip-hop legend Master P — who also had a short stint in the NBA — was the one who shared the news through TMZ. Master P said that he told J. Cole that it isn't going to be easy primarily because it's a different era of basketball. However, he believes that the 35-year-old can make it because he has the proper talent and size.

Now, the Pistons are giving him a shot.

“I said to get one of these NBA jerseys, it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be a lot of hate, it's gonna be a lot of people not believing in you but you know J. Cole — he got the right size, he in the gym!” Master P shared.

“But, what I told him … this a different time we're in. They're going to pick you apart! You're gonna have to be able to hit every shot and if you don't hit every shot, they — you know in the NBA, they don't hit every shot but they believe in them. So, you're gonna have to go somewhere where the team really believe in you and the players believe in you.”

Whether J. Cole actually makes it or not to the Pistons or to the NBA in general is a matter of wait and see. However, it sure is going to be exciting to see a hip hop star with the best athletes in the world.
