Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey was one happy man after his team defeated a LeBron James-less Los Angeles Lakers side on Friday, 111-97.

Following the easy win, coach Casey was asked if he would have preferred if James had been able to suit up on the evening so that the Pistons would have faced a full strength L.A. side. Well, the reigning Coach of the Year winner was obviously having none of it.

“I wish we could play G League teams or high school teams,” Casey said, via ESPN. “We've got to play who's here. I've been through that over the years, and teams have different visions and focuses, and still, how you look at tonight's schedule, I guarantee somebody's going to have a tough game against one of those teams. Those guys get paid twice a month.”

The Pistons pretty much cruised to victory in this one, with big man Andre Drummond leading the way with another highly-impressive 19-point, 23-rebound double-double. Both Blake Griffin (15 points, nine assists) and Reggie Jackson (20 points, five rebounds, five assists) helped carry the scoring load for Detroit, but the duo struggled to find their shot, going for a combined 9-of-31 from the floor.

Langston Galloway had it going against the Lakers as he dropped a team-high 23 points from the bench on a very efficient 8-of-10 from the field, along with four three-pointers.

With the victory, the Pistons improved to 35-33 and are now currently tied with the Brooklyn Nets at the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference.
