The Detroit Pistons managed to pull out a clutch win against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night. Head coach Dwane Casey is optimistic that wins like this will go a long way for this team in the playoffs.

The Pistons made several big plays in crunch time to get their second win in a row. According to Keith Langlois of NBA.com, Casey feels this matchup had all the elements of a playoff game:

“We’re developing an identity we’ve got to have to win big time in this league,” Casey said. “That was a playoff game. That’s the way it’s going to be in the playoffs.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Casey's comments. Both the Piston and the Raptors are both looking like legitimate playoff teams down the stretch. Casey is hoping that this kind of victory helps Detroit learn to shut close games out when they need to.

The Pistons currently own the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. Although they have largely gone unnoticed as potential contenders in the East, there is no question that things are now up for grabs with Lebron James in the West. Meanwhile, Toronto is among the notable teams looking to capitalize on his absence.

While the Raptors are considered one of the favorites to win the East, Casey knows full well that they are a completely different team in the postseason. After all, he was a part of their many disappointing playoff runs in recent years. Perhaps this could serve as another edge for the Pistons if they were to potentially meet down the line.
