Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey wants his team to draw inspiration from the Los Angeles Clippers' historic 31-point comeback against the Golden State Warriors.

Casey shared his sentiments with The Detroit News' Rod Beard on April 16.

We talked about that. We saw that epic comeback. We don't want to get down 30 – that's the first problem, but we used that as a thing to keep playing and keep competing at that level and good things happen.

We got to that level, but we didn't start the game on the level that was needed.

Casey added he takes the blame for the Pistons' 35-point loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of their first-round series, per Beard.

I take the blame for that, for not explaining the difference. If you've been (to the playoffs) a few times before, you know what's about to hit you, the level of intensity you have to play at, the speed you have to play at, the hostile crowd. Game 1 should have been a great experience.

The eighth-seeded Pistons trailed by 20 to the Bucks after one quarter. Detroit never made any serious headway thereafter. MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 24 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in just 24 minutes of action for Milwaukee.

According to ESPN, Detroit's 35-point loss on April 15 was the third-largest in franchise postseason history.

It won't get any easier for Detroit from here on out. Pistons forward Blake Griffin will most likely miss the entire first-round series against the Bucks because of a nagging left knee injury, per Yahoo Sports' Vincent Goodwill.

The best Casey and Co. can do right now is to draw inspiration from the Clippers' 135-131 win against the defending champion Warriors on April 15. Sixth man Lou Williams led the charge for Los Angeles with 36 points and 11 assists.

Game 2 of the Pistons vs. Bucks series tips off at 8 p.m. ET on April 17.
