The Detroit Pistons are on the brink of elimination following their 119-103 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3 of the teams' first-round series. One more defeat and their postseason run will end, as they are already down 0-3 against the best team in the East.

But the Pistons' playoff woes are actually much worse than their current situation. They have not won a playoff game since May 26th, 2008.

The last time Detroit won a postseason game was against the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals. They eventually lost Games 5 and 6 of that series, which was the start of their demise in the playoffs.

The Pistons made the playoffs again in 2009 but were swept by LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round. Detroit missed the postseason for six straight years before making it again in 2016 as the eight seed. They once again faced the Cavs in the first round, and were once again swept by a team led by James.

Before this year's playoffs began, the Pistons were actually tied with the Portland Trail Blazers for ten consecutive playoff losses, but the latter have already snapped their losing streak by winning Games 1 and 2 of their first-round matchup the Oklahoma City Thunder. Detroit, unfortunately, is now tied with the New York Knicks for the most consecutive playoff losses in NBA history.

Detroit's 13-game playoff losing streak could be ended or extended in Game 4. Considering both how this series has played out so far and the teams' performance during the regular season, though, the Bucks should be considered heavy favorites over the Pistons on Monday night.
