Leaks reveal several new display and graphical features for PS1 games on the upcoming PS+ Premium subscription.

When it comes to emulating games from classic consoles, the first concern would be graphics quality and functionality. The good news is that Sony will be providing essential settings, particularly for PS1 emulation.

First off, players will have the options to play PS1 games on either of the three display settings. These settings are Default, Retro Classic, and Modern. Default settings are basically intertwined with your monitor’s native resolution. Retro Classic will have a more nostalgic vibe, running the games like how they would look on a box-type TV. Then finally the Modern setting wherein players can experience their favorite classics in full HD or 4k resolution.

Aside from the resolution, Sony will also be allowing players to decide what aspect ratio they prefer running their games on. They can either choose from 4:3, 16:9, or stretched mode. Based on the aspect ratio and resolution options, be sure to combine each feature accordingly for the best results. Hopefully, Sony will reveal what the features would actually look like before launch.

As many PlayStation fans know by now, PS+ Premium is soon launching for both the PS4 and PS5. What has the fans excited about this subscription is the fact that it offers backwards compatibility from PS1 to PS3 titles. This was a feature that many PlayStation fans have been looking for since the launch of the PS4. With PS+ Premium and Deluxe releasing soon, fans can finally relive their nostalgia with classic titles.
