Kylian Mbappe officially welcomed idol and teammate Lionel Messi to PSG on Thursday after he sealed the deal on a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 giants. The Frenchman took to Twitter and gave Messi a warm welcome:

While Mbappe is one of the most deadly strikers in the world, you'd have to believe this is a very surreal moment for the youngster. After all, he grew up watching Messi become a legend at Barcelona and now, they're playing alongside each other at PSG.

Mauricio Pochettino's side is expected to be a serious contender in every possible competition this season following the signing of Messi. Their attack now consists of the Argentine, Neymar, and Mbappe, which is arguably one of the most dangerous frontlines in Europe.

Neymar and Messi already have solid chemistry considering they played together at Barca, but it will be interesting to see how Mbappe fits beside his new strike partner. There were rumors that he could leave the Parc des Princes for Real Madrid this summer, but that would honestly make no sense when you look at the players he has around him.

It was a historic transfer window for Paris, signing Sergio Ramos, Messi, Gini Wijnaldum, and Gianluigi Donnarumma all on free transfers. Achraf Hakimi was the only exception, with PSG splashing €70 million to bring in the attacking-minded wing-back.

Anything less than a Champions League triumph would be considered a failure for PSG with the world-class squad they currently have.
