It's no secret that Real Madrid was not pleased when Kylian Mbappe decided to sign a new deal with PSG and snub the Spanish club. Well, it appears LaLiga as a whole isn't too happy, either.

Per the Canadian Press, the league has filed a complaint to UEFA against Paris, claiming they broke financial fair play rules by convincing the Frenchman to not sign with Los Blancos. Essentially, LaLiga believes PSG didn't have the money to actually extend Mbappe to such a lucrative deal given their recent losses and the other high-profile players in their squad, including Neymar and Lionel Messi.

This is their statement:

“LaLiga understands that these clubs are being improperly financed, either through direct injections of money or through sponsorships and other contracts that do not correspond to market conditions or make economic sense,” the league said Wednesday about PSG.

“LaLiga considers that these practices alter the ecosystem and the sustainability of soccer, harm all European clubs and leagues, and only serve to artificially inflate the market with money not generated in soccer itself.”

It was believed for months that Mbappe would leave PSG for Real Madrid. But, the French giants literally gave him a contract like none other. Aside from a signing bonus of over $100 million, he's also got a say in the players they sign, their next head coach, and the next sporting director.

LaLiga also filed a complaint against Man City in April, who they believe have also broken financial fair play rules. PSG is backed by Qatari owners, while City is owned by an Abu Dhabi consortium. Both teams continue to splash the cash, with the Premier League champions just adding Erling Haaland as well.
