The Las Vegas Raiders are now 2-0 on the season, and it's thanks in large part to Derek Carr who has the team rolling offensively. Unfortunately for the team, the veteran QB suffered a right ankle injury in Week 2 that makes his status a bit concerning.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, head coach Jon Gruden confirmed that Carr is questionable to play in Week 3 when they face the Miami Dolphins at home in the Allegiant Stadium. However, the tactician noted that his quarterback already got an MRI and is confident he'll be able to suit up.

Derek Carr was phenomenal for the Raiders against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2, completing 28 of his 37 passes for 382 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Amid his stellar performance, though, he gave Baltimore quite a scare with an injury late in the game.

During the third quarter of the contest, a Steelers defender rolled into his legs on a touchdown pass. He was obviously in pain right after and had to stay lying on the ground before he walked off the field. Fortunately, the 30-year-old returned and was able to finish the game.

After the showdown, the Raiders QB opened up about the scare and revealed his fear of a significant injury since it's the same ankle he broke in April 2016.

It remains to be seen if Carr will be able to play in Week 3, but it's understandable if he opts not to if he's not 100 percent healthy. Given his injury history, the Raiders and the QB might opt to play it safe to avoid any more issue from arising.

With backup Marcus Mariota in the Injured Reserve list, though, Gruden and Las Vegas will have to rely on Nathan Peterman should Carr miss Week 3.
