Although hobbled a bit as of late, there is no denying that Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is a force to be reckoned with. Quickly taking notice of Gurley's skillset, soon-to-be Oakland Raiders rookie running back Josh Jacobs wants to learn from his California counterpart.

“I don’t have a relationship with him, but I definitely spoke to him and told him when he gets here I want to pick his brain a little bit,” Jacobs recently said, according to the team's official website. “He’s a great running back in my eyes and he’s top five [in the league], and I just want to see how he thinks, and see what he does to take care of his body, or how he reads certain things and makes cuts.”

The Raiders notably selected the former Alabama Crimson Tide standout with one of the team's three first round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft.

“Prototypical combination of size and skill-set as an every-down runner with the ability to slash or impose his will on any given snap,” reads his 2019 NFL Draft profile on NFL.com. “Jacobs runs with good bend, vision and burst, and he proved to be an effective pass-catcher out of the backfield or from the slot. He will probe and burst, but he could become more elusive with better tempo as a runner. Jacobs is a decisive runner with outstanding one-cut talent to become a bellcow lead back.”

In the absence of now retired running back Marshawn Lynch, Jacobs will likely start for the Raiders come Week 1 of the 2019 regular season.
