The Oakland Raiders are slowly becoming the Las Vegas Raiders with the AFC West set for a full-on transition ahead of the 2020-21 campaign. However, with the team still technically in limbo as the Raiders' new stadium in “Sin City” continues to be built, the once-heralded franchise still does not have a permanent home for the 2019 NFL season.

Even so, it appears as though the Raiders are rapidly narrowing the team's search with NFL.com's Ian Rapoport uncovering what seems like a crucial piece of information on Tuesday evening.

“Update on the Raiders stadium situation,” Rapoport tweeted on Tuesday evening. “49ers are still not expected to waive their territorial rights for San Francisco, sources say. With the [San Francisco] Mayor going public against the Raiders playing at Oracle Park, [San Francisco] is off the table. It’s Oakland or Levi’s Stadium for the Raiders.”

As a matter of fact, San Francisco's mayor, London Breed, commented on the ongoing situation earlier in the day on Tuesday.

“As far as I’m concerned, the Oakland Raiders should play in Oakland,” Breed said, via the San Francisco Chronicle.

The storied franchise is in rebuild mode for the time being as well, which hasn't made the AFC West squad the most exciting team in football right now.

“In San Francisco, we have a number of challenges that we need to address with the Warriors coming to the new Chase Arena, the housing — 1,400 units — that’s going to break ground in that area, our transportation system, our ferry landing,” Breed added.

“We have a number of things for years that we’ve been working to prepare for. And we don’t need another layer to add to what we already have in terms of an area that’s really congested, filled with construction, and will hold a number of concerts and games for both basketball and baseball over the coming months.”
