The first-round series between the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics changed course dramatically after Rajon Rondo suffered an injury. When Rondo was healthy and playing, the Bulls led the series 2-0, but Rondo's injury during Game 2 forced him to miss the rest of the series. Without Rondo, the Bulls lost four straight games and saw their postseason dreams end rather quickly and succinctly by the Celtics.

When Rondo was playing, the Bulls were playing tough defense and the ball was moving on offense. Without him, Chicago's point guard depth was virtually non-existent and the Bulls' offense instantly slowed down. This is why Rondo believes if he didn't get injured, the Bulls would've swept the Celtics.

Rondo said this during his appearance on TNT's “Area 21” on Monday:

Rondo is a confident player, so it isn't too surprising for him to say this. And perhaps he is right. But we will never know as the Celtics took control of the series after he was injured and there is no possible way to replay the series.
