We knew something was building with Rajon Rondo being benched during the last few games for the Chicago Bulls.

Now we know exactly what Rondo will do if it continues.

Via The Chicago Tribune:

As he promised during his session with reporters, Rajon Rondo met with general manager Gar Forman and executive vice president John Paxson late Saturday night to discuss his future with the Bulls.

Rondo told reporters he'd “absolutely” ask to be elsewhere if he remains out of the rotation, a point he also conveyed to management. As of now, sources said there are no plans to trade or buy out Rondo, who was benched for the third time in a week and this time for the entirety of Saturday's loss to the Bucks.

The construction of the roster may have made it less suited for Rondo. The addition of Dwyane Wade as another perimeter player who isn't a threat as an outside shooter makes it hard to play Rondo alongside him.

With the emergence of others like Jerian Grant and now Michael Carter-Williams, head coach Fred Hoiberg is looking elsewhere for answers.

Rondo led the league in assists per game last season as he proved he still has something left in the tank. He just needs to find the right fit and it's looking more and more like Chicago is not it.
