On Thursday night, running back C.J. Anderson took to Twitter to express his displeasure with how the free agency progress has gone for him thus far, calling the fact that he remains unsigned “disrespect.”

On Friday, Anderson got back on Twitter and made sure to clarify that his comments were not about his former Los Angeles Rams club.

“By the way my disrespect tweets last night had nothing to do with the rams,” wrote Anderson. “Had a long convo with some 1 I trust and that’s how that convo ended. I thank the rams for a beautiful opportunity It was very fun.”

Anderson had a roller coaster of a season in 2018. He began the year with the Carolina Panthers, playing in nine games before getting cut. He went on to sign with the Oakland Raiders, but didn't even get a chance to get on the field before the Raiders released him.

Then, Rams running back Todd Gurley injured his knee in Week 15, opening up Los Angeles' need for a running back. That was when the Rams went out and signed Anderson, and he responded by rushing for 167 and 132 yards in Weeks 16 and 17, respectively. He then gashed the Dallas Cowboys for 123 yards and a couple of touchdowns in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

However, in spite of that production, Anderson has seemed to generate little interest on the open market, which might be more of an indication about how teams view expensive running backs rather than an indictment on Anderson himself.
